Easy like Sunday Morning
Sunday Morning Interiors’ Tips for a Brighter Day
written by Anna L.
At Sunday Morning Interiors, we believe that having a solid morning routine helps us conquer the rest of the day!
Start the Day by Establishing a Routine!
The best thing to do to establish a routine is to find what works for you, what prepares you for the day ahead. We start by waking up each morning immersed with gratitude. Maybe you’d prefer a cup of coffee to get your engine started or listening to soothing music — possibly both. At Sunday Morning Interiors, we set intentions prior to working with our clients by cueing our bodies with daily activities. Engaging in physical activities in the morning is the best way to feel rejuvenated and energized.
Jot Down 3 Things to Accomplish for the Day
Whether it’s work related or personal, write it down! Finish the day knowing you tackled and achieved your daily goals. For us it might be completing a design board for a client, drinking a gallon of water, or getting our daily steps in. I’m sure we have all been overwhelmed with an extensive list of things we just realized we had to do, but step back! Do not let stress interfere with your current mindset. There are times we need to stop, sit still, and choose to conquer our tasks rather than be overwhelmed by them.
“Set peace of mind as your highest goal, and organize your life around it.” -Brian Tracy
Have a Designated Work Space
Have a designated room or area where work stays and doesn’t follow us back into our personal lives — even if the space is tucked in the corner of your living room. The benefits of having a designated work space in our homes enables you to lead a life of balance and shifts your mindset to avoid burnout and exhaustion. Keep your work area clean and tidy after the day is done. By doing so, you prevent the urge to return to unfinished tasks.

Take a Break!
Take a break and enjoy yourself! It’s important to remind ourselves that we are not machines. Indulge yourself with a cup of coffee and a breath of fresh air, a mental vacation - they’re free! Taking breaks can lead to breakthroughs or, at a minimum, a refreshed mind. Remember to nurture yourself — mind, body, and soul.
Set Boundaries & Shut Down
One of the most important things to do is set boundaries especially when working from home. As mentioned earlier, leave work at work. Shut down the computer and reclaim your personal space. It’s important to keep work out of reach, in order to avoid the temptation of completing additional tasks, and to be able to fully engage and connect with our families, friends and ourselves. Don’t allow work to consume you, work is a never ending process that can never truly be completed. Remember that while work is important, your personal time is priceless.
